HARD WAX PREPARATION: 2-3 weeks before: • Stop using retinoids, AHAs/BHAs on treatment area • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds • Discontinue acne medications (consult your doctor) 1 week before: • Gently exfoliate 2-3 times • Moisturize daily to keep skin healthy • Avoid harsh chemical peels 24-48 hours before: • Hair length should be ¼ inch (about 6mm) - like a grain of rice • Do NOT shave (hair needs length for wax to grip) • Skip caffeine and alcohol (can increase sensitivity) Day of appointment: • Skin should be clean, dry, with no lotions/oils • Wear loose, comfortable clothing • Take mild pain reliever if needed (30 min before) Avoid before waxing: -Retinols/Retin-A (1 week) -Sunburned or irritated skin -Fresh tanning -Active acne outbreaks SUGAR WAX (SUGARING) PREPARATION: 2-3 weeks before • Stop using retinoids on treatment area • Avoid sun exposure • Discontinue harsh exfoliants 1 week before: • Light exfoliation 2 times • Keep skin well moisturized • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools 24-48 hours before: • Hair length: ⅛ to ¼ inch (3-6mm) • Do NOT shave or trim too short • Avoid hot showers/baths right before Day of appointment: • Clean skin with NO lotions, oils, or deodorant • Skin should be completely dry • Wear breathable, loose clothing Benefits of Sugaring: -Natural ingredients (sugar, lemon, water) -Less painful than traditional wax -Water-soluble - easy cleanup -Exfoliates while removing hair -Suitable for sensitive skin LASER FULL BODY TREATMENT PREPARATION: 4-6 weeks before: • Stop waxing, plucking, or threading (laser needs the hair root intact) • Avoid sun exposure and self-tanners • Discontinue prescription acne medications (consult doctor) 2 weeks before: • Stop retinols, AHAs, BHAs • No chemical peels or microdermabrasion • Avoid tanning beds completely 24 hours before: • SHAVE the treatment area (most important step!) • Hair should be freshly shaved, not long • Clean skin, no lotions, creams, deodorant Day of appointment: • Shower and cleanse the area thoroughly • No makeup on treatment areas • No perfumes or scented products • Arrive with clean, dry skin Note: Extra charges will be applied if a big body, and if hair length is more than 12 mm and thicker/denser hairs
